sharing has value. we return most of what we receive for certified energy savings and use a share to keep the app, servers and team running. the aim is for that share to keep getting smaller.
why we don't promise you a fixed amount
what your saving is worth depends on two things nobody knows at the start: how much energy the framework recognises per km, which changes from one project to the next, and what price the certificates sell for. an app that promises you a fixed amount has to set it low, to cover itself in case things go badly.
we don't make you pay for that risk. we count your share in sparkies and, once the saving is certified and sold, we pay you what it is really worth. that's why we pay the most, by far. and because we only earn more by selling better, never by paying you less, whatever we win, you win too, and the other way round.
so what are sparkies?
- eligible shared journeys earn sparkies for the driver and passengers.
- your wallet shows confirmed sparkies, pending steps and available payouts.
- check your own balance and payout details in the app.
the important bits, no fluff
- it's real and regulated (Royal Decree 36/2023). that's why it takes time: certifying the savings is an official process.
- to take part you must be over 18 and verify your identity (DNI/NIE). the anti-fraud rules require it.
- payment depends on the savings being validated. if a trip isn't validated, it can't be paid.
